The Hedge Witch's Book was my first handmade journal.
I used multimedia paper, brown cardstock end-pages, and layered chipboard underneath the fabric to create dimension on the cover.
By layering the chipboard, you are able to create embossed dents. Using this approach, I also painted the grooves to accentuate the idea that it came from tree bark.
This project took roughly 20 hours to create. I used a book press that I made out of cutting boards, to keep it flush while drying. I also used the kettle-stitch method to create the text block.
